Jon Anderson and his first Dutch cyclocross training

Jon Anderson wrote that he raced his first cyclocross season last year and getting to Amsterdam for business he would like to experience a real Dutch cyclocross racecourse for a few hours. The next day Jon arrived on Schiphol airport, took the train to Amsterdam Central Station were we met. By car we drove to a small nature reserve near Amsterdam that accommodates a cyclocross racecourse. AmsterdamCycling provided a Focus Mares cyclocrossbike, shoes and a helmet and Jon took his own cycling clothes with him. During a two hours training we practiced the push/pull stearing method, the right body position when you need to stand on the pedal at a short steep climb, dismounting, running up a stair and getting back on the bike without the extra step and using speed to get through a uphill turn. Afterwards we cycled at an easy pace through the rest of the nature reserve, drank a cup of coffee and finally AmsterdamCycling gave Jon a lift back to Amsterdam Central Station from were he continued his businesstrip to The Hague.
Thanks Jon, it was real fun to ride with you!
